Overview
I am a Graphic Designer / Artist. I
promote myself as a conscious designer because I believe that we are in a time
when integrity and consciousness of our choices and actions are critical. My
integrity as a designer includes utilizing my skills to promote organizations,
products and services that support sustainability and aim not to exploit animals
and the earth. It also means taking a personal interest in your success by
creating a bold, influential design campaign that leaves a lasting impression on
your target audience and in the marketplace. Of course I need to eat, but money
is not what drives me! I offer affordable marketing solutions and approach
everything I do for you with honesty, passion and support for what you offer
and/or are trying to accomplish.
Being vegan has personally changed my life in every aspect. I “walk the talk” by making conscious choices in my life starting from the food I eat, to the products I buy with the intent of causing as little harm to other sentient beings as possible.
I have been involved in the Animal Rights movement and veg for approximately 18 years (10 of which are vegan) and worked on AR cases with PETA, Animal Rights Mobilization of Chicago (ARM), Illinois Animal Action, Chicago Rights Animal Coalition (CHARC), Southern Oregon Animal Rights Society (SOARS) and have volunteered in various animal shelters and headed rescue efforts of domestic strays and wildlife. I have also undercover-videotaped miscellaneous cruelty cases involving rodeos and domestic animal abuse.
Some design projects include work for Lorri Bauston, the co-founder of Farm Sanctuary, ARM, SOARS, CHARK, and Parma, a company that produces a vegan parmesan cheese, and other conscious organizations.

Testimonials
I met Mary Gabriel during a Fur-Free Friday demonstration more than 12 years ago in Chicago, through a mutual vegan friend. I have been honored to call Mary my friend ever since.
During the course of our friendship, I’ve witnessed Mary’s unwavering commitment to the animals -- and with Mary, they always come first. From grass roots activism to utilizing her professional design skills to further the cause of animal rights, Mary is driven and passionate. The animals are lucky to have her on their side.
Daphna Nachminovitch, Director
Domestic Animal and Wildlife Rescue & Information
PETA
I have known Mary Gabriel for over 10 years. During this time she has been a committed animal activist, for Animal Rights Mobilization and other organizations, and has given selflessly of her time, energy, and creativity. Her vision and determination to work for justice and end animal abuse and exploitation has never wavered. Mary has worked on several ARM design projects. Her quick grasp of what was needed and her ability to provide a quality selection of design concepts was impressive.
I would highly recommend Mary Gabriel both on her ethical commitment and design abilities.
Kay Sievers
Director and President
Animal Rights Mobilization
I am pleased to provide a recommendation for Mary Gabriel, who I was fortunate to work with on a very important effort - the creation of Animal Acres, a Los Angeles farmed animal sanctuary. I trusted Mary to create images and designs which reflected our new organization, and I was never disappointed. Mary puts her compassion and dedication for animals into her graphics and design work, and her work helped launch Animal Acres and greatly contributed to the success of our organization. Mary is the perfect combination of creativity and compassion, and she is an ideal graphics designer for any animal protection organization.
Lorri Bauston, President, Animal Acres (co-founder of Farm Sanctuary)
Mary Gabriel kindly offered to design our Animals Count logo in a short space of time for a reduced rate. It looks professional and clearly demonstrates what we stand for; that we live in harmony with other animals.
